Hansgrohe Showroom Visit

October 27, 2009 Three classes from Inspiration Design School made their way to the Hansgrohe showroom here in Singapore to learn about the German made bathroom fittings and systems.

Trainer & Aquademie Manager Belda Loo shared her vast knowledge and insight of Hansgrohe's designs and their implementation through interior design.

Hansgrohe has been in the business of innovative bathroom fixture design since 1901. They have maintained their German identity, quality, and attention to detail while bringing in renowned designers from around the world to add their creativity and concepts to Hangrohe's brand.

Each faucet fixture, each shower system, has its own story, influences and message it is trying to convey. Mixed in is a subtle attention to ergonomics and efficiency the world has come to expect from German design.

Hansgrohe's bathroom fixtures have been included in many high profile projects around the world such as the Yoo Apartments in New York City, the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Shanghai, and on board the Queen Mary II trans-Atlantic luxury liner.

Interior design students at IDS were given a tour and working demonstrations of the various product lines within the showroom. From the extensive and artful Axor fixtures, to the efficient & energy saving features of the Pontos water recycling system; students received many new ideas and concepts to consider when tackling their next design project.

Bulthaup Visit: Kitchen Living Space Design

October 21, 2009 Interior design students from intake ADID 11 got an opportunity to visit the Bulthaup showroom and see the latest designs, concepts, and products offered by the German kitchen systems company.

Bulthaup was founded in 1949 and is located in Aich, Germany. Their designers and own factory produce world-class customizable kitchen systems to accommodate all varieties of clients all over the world, from private flats in Europe to international hotel chains in Asia.

The customizable nature of Bulthaup's systems and the variety that customization gives to the creative process, has made their kitchen systems a favorite amongst many interior design firms.

Students from Inspiration Design School were given a brief history of the company, a very technical and professional explanation of Bulthaup's products including the manufacturing process, the variety of options in finishes and accessories, as well as examples of Bulthaup's commitment to customer service.

For example, the unique nature of veneer finishes may cause problems for systems that are damaged in transit before installation. Therefore, Bulthaup keeps the balance of veneer used in each project for up to 6 months. In the event that the finish is damaged in transit or installation, customers can receive matched veneer replacements.

The knowledge of the Bulthaup staff, especially that of Steven, who gave students a presentation, product demonstrations, and answered their questions, was greatly appreciated by Inspiration Design School's students and staff alike.

We look forward to visiting Bulthaup again in the future to see what this innovative kitchen design company comes up with next.
